Los Angeles based AEA actor and writer.
My name is Jessie and I was born in Mobile, Alabama and moved to Pittsburgh when I was about 7 years old. I grew up dancing, playing piano, trumpet, and guitar, and then started focusing on acting in middle school. I received my BFA in Acting from Shenandoah Conservatory, did a year as a resident actor with Cincinnati Shakespeare, performed in New York, returned to Pittsburgh where I worked in regional theatre, and then moved out LA.
I’ve done stage work, independent film, tv, and commercials in Los Angeles, New York, and regionally around the U.S.
I received a certificate in screenwriting from UCLA at the post-graduate level and am writing a magical realism feature film about friendship and intergenerational trauma.
The stories I tell reach into a place that is more unconscious, subconscious, and abstract.
The women I play are not plot devices.
They are resilient survivors, nurturing guides, and furious revolutionaries.
They are your protective sisters, your self-righteous friends, the weird girl no one talked to in high school.
In life, people call me intuitive, nurturing, empathetic, an old soul, and authentic.
